Stay companion app for a hotel: services ordered from the guest's phone
Hotel guests order restaurant, laundry, excursions and shuttle from their phone, all charged to the room bill.
Project overview
This scenario illustrates what we build; it is not a client reference.
This scenario shows how a hotel or residence can offer its services from the guest's phone: restaurant, laundry, excursions, airport pickup. Each order is charged to the room and the staff see every request in one place.
Client challenges & requirements
A 40-room residence offers a restaurant, a laundry service, excursions and an airport shuttle. To order, the guest calls the front desk or walks down. The front desk writes in a notebook, calls the kitchen, tells the driver on WhatsApp.
Orders arrive with a detail missing, the 5 am shuttle is sometimes written down for 6 am, and the end-of-stay bill is rebuilt by hand from the notebook and paper tickets. The residence's services stay undersold: the guest does not know they exist, or does not want to bother the front desk.
Main objectives
Let the guest order a service from their phone, without calling the front desk
Charge each order to the room bill, with no re-entry
Give the staff a single queue of requests, with a status per order
Make the hotel's services known from the moment the guest arrives
Project solution
-
On arrival, the guest receives a QR code or a link by SMS. They open the app without creating an account, with their name and room number. The app is built with Flutter to run on iPhone and Android, in French and English, with a web version for those who do not want to install anything. It shows the restaurant menu, laundry prices, the day's excursions and the shuttle, with clear times and prices. An order fits on a single screen.
-
On the staff side, a Laravel dashboard lists every request in order, by service: the kitchen sees the dishes, the laundry sees the linen, the driver sees the shuttles. Each request has a status: received, in progress, delivered. A service marked delivered is added to the room bill, which the guest can check at any time and settle at checkout by card or Orange Money. The screens were designed with the residence's team, for one-handed use and for hotel wifi that is sometimes slow.

We start small
The restaurant and laundry first, excursions and the shuttle next.

Frequently asked questions
No. A QR code at the front desk or a link by SMS opens the web version, which works on any phone. The installable app is for residences where guests stay several weeks and want notifications.
The app loads the menus once and keeps them in memory. An order placed offline is sent as soon as the phone is back on the network, and the guest can clearly see whether it was received or is still waiting.
On a single screen, by service, with a status per request. If a request stays unanswered beyond a delay set with you, the manager gets an alert. Nothing is added to the bill until the service is marked delivered.
